We have been trying to work with the County for years. We started before they had an Agritourism ordinance. They wanted to close us then because we didn't fit into any Zoning category. Even though Law and precedent retain property rights with the individual until a government make a law regulating it or taking it under their control. The County passed an Agritourism ordinance but didn't have any applications made up when we tried to apply. Next they contact us and we work on building code issues with them over last summer. We call to have some inspections done before finishing work on our downstairs area, so we can move on to other points the have. Months later, at the end of November, they leave us a voicemail. The last few months there isn't communication between us (do we need to explain what's been going on the last few months). Next communication is this letter to close. We are still willing to apply for the Agritourism permit and make changes according to County and State law governing Agritourism.

History of 4680 N.
A love of animals and the good Earth drove us to seek a country-home experience for our young family. We purchased these few acres of raw undeveloped pasture and started to work. Water and a lane came first then Tom contracted and worked on our home. The older children helped with whatever they could do. Our youngest was born a year after the home was completed- a little “ship” on a sea of green. Through the years as finances allowed, trees were planted and animals and out-buildings added, the garden was always here.
It has been a joy and a lot of work but we have all taken great pleasure in improving and enhancing our little corner of the world. Now after 30 years we have children who also desire to share our country-home experience with friends and ‘friends to be made’ as we invite you to come and visit us. We raise and sell beef and lamb, garden produce, flowers and farm fresh eggs. We rent by reservation the Lawns, the Garden House, the Carriage House Kitchen and the Resident Gardens. Rachel and Jared have a farm stand and breakfast on Saturday mornings and cater dinner parties by reservation in all the venues. Come and enjoy a country-home experience– relax and renew in the scenery of the farm. -The Gibbons Green Gate Farm Family Tom, Ann, David, Aaron, Rebekah, Rachel, Jared What Drives Us
At Gibbons’ Green Gate Farm we produce and sell healthy animals and crops while beautifying our corner of the countryside. We continually seek learning in all aspects of our natural world to secure the longevity of our farm. We take delight in and choose to offer our country home experience to you.
Future Work
We have a few more projects we would like to add, a small orchard behind the back yard, educational short courses, and additions to the vegetable garden.
